Biography
I focus my practice on representing employees in complex employment law matters, including discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, disability and leave violations, and wage-and-hour claims. I am Board Certified in Labor & Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization—an achievement held by a small percentage of Texas attorneys.
I represent employees in claims involving race, age, sex, pregnancy, disability, religion, and national origin discrimination, as well as retaliation for engaging in protected activity, including requesting accommodations, taking Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), filing workers’ compensation claims, or reporting unlawful conduct. I also handle wage-and-hour matters under the Fair Labor Standards Act for employees who have not been paid for all hours worked or overtime earned.
In addition to representing employees, I provide employment law training and compliance education for employers, including executives, managers, and human resources professionals. My training is informed by years of litigating employment disputes and evaluating how workplace decisions are examined in arbitration and court. These programs are designed to help organizations understand where legal risk arises and how everyday management decisions can lead to liability if handled improperly.
For the first decade of my legal career, I represented Fortune 500 companies in state and federal litigation, including matters involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth in Lending Act, Texas Finance Code, and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. That experience gives me a practical understanding of employer decision-making and defense strategies—insight I now use to advocate effectively for employees and to educate employers on how to prevent costly mistakes.
I approach my work with a disciplined, fact-driven focus on the law and the realities of the workplace. Whether representing employees or training employers, my perspective is grounded in how cases actually unfold—not how policies are supposed to work in theory.
